The number of fire wardens/marshals needed for a school depends on its size, layout, hazards and specific needs. This course meets Regulatory Reform Order 2005 and provides an insight into fire regulations, general fire awareness and fire prevention methods, also identifying the correct selection and use of fire-fighting equipment. The session will also give guidance to schools on setting up invacuation procedures. An invacuation or lock-down occurs when circumstances dictate that the safety of children, staff and visitors is better ensured inside current buildings, with doors and windows locked. This could occur as a result of a chemical spill, weapons crisis, criminal activity or an intruder enters the school grounds. Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance and any follow-up advice needed for individual schools.
