The law requires employers to assess the risks to their employees (Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999) including new and expectant mothers and to do what is reasonably practicable to control those risks. The aim of this training is to ensure all employers who have staff who become pregnant undergo a risk assessment as early in their pregnancy as possible. It will also enable staff to ensure that all reasonable and practical measures are taken to avoid or reduce hazards to new and expectant mothers, by taking appropriate action to implement control measures to remove or reduce the risk.
