Course Content

Reading is a skill for life, not just the classroom. Reading for enjoyment is now a key area of the National Curriculum and teachers are looking for different ways of teaching reading that take account of children’s changing tastes.

Key concepts will be covered including:

  • Teaching reading skills to improve understanding
  • The use of content domains for questioning
  • Planning for best outcomes
  • School libraries – updating your provision
  • Developing a love of reading across the school

With a FREE book for all delegates, donated by Peters, participants will leave with improved knowledge of how to teach reading for understanding in a way that suits the needs of the children in their school. They will also leave with a bank of ideas to support their journey in creating a culture of reading across the school.

Lunch is included on this course and there is free parking at the venue.
