Course Content

This free half day session is for all schools who are in the process of completing, or thinking of completing, the One Education Reading Award. The session will demonstrate how the award can support schools in building a successful reading curriculum and inspiring children to read.

The session will explore the main aspects of the Reading award: the structure and criteria of the award; the online resource area and what is available; and the online platform to upload your evidence. We will also share practical ideas and strategies that have had a remarkable effect on the impact of reading within schools that we are working with.

There will be time to discuss what your school is doing with other delegates and the opportunity to ask questions to specialist Literacy Consultants.

The DfE have highlighted their focus on improving reading and promoting reading for pleasure. This session will demonstrate how One Education's Reading Award can show that schools are prioritising reading to provide children with the knowledge, skills, passion, and enthusiasm for reading - which will last the whole of their lives.
