The concert will feature more than 1500 children on the first access music scheme along with high school musicians of every level, performing with the Hallé as part of the programme. Amongst the highlights will be opportunities for instrumentalists to participate in BBC Ten Pieces: Bernstein’s Mambo from West Side Story, and a special arrangement of Jobim’s, One Note Samba. Everyone in the audience will be raising their voices in singing Mark and Helen Johnson’s Ai Caramba Samba (Out of the Ark) and a new song by Steve Pickett, ‘In New York City’s Streets’, lyrics by Neil Bennison.
