Music Showcase 2017
One Education Music are proud to showcase a wide range of musical and vocal events for young people, schools and families. Over the week of the Music Showcase, around 1,000 pupils will be performing at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Music Showcase is a series of concerts demonstrating a great variety of styles and high standards achieved by pupils in schools, academies and music centres which are commissioned by the Manchester Music Education Hub (MyHub).
What can I expect at the Showcase?
From Monday 10 July - Wednesday 12 July, each performance features up to 9 different groups who each have a short performance slot. Concerts start at 7pm and finish by 9pm. Although there is no interval, the atmosphere is friendly and informal and there is access to and from toilets. There is a café and bar which are open before and after the event, where there is chance to meet friends and family – especially if young people need to rehearse before the concert.
On Thursday 13 July - the final night of Showcase, the end time is slightly later and there will be an interval. We are delighted to welcome the award winning jazz development company, Tomorrow’s Warriors, and their flagship professional jazz ensemble, the Nu Civilisation Orchestra, to present The Jazz Ticket. The Jazz Ticket is an exciting project giving young musicians an opportunity to work with leading jazz professionals, and to develop their performance and improvisation skills, whilst exploring the history of the genre and six of its pioneering artists born 100 years ago.
Sounds great, where can I get tickets?
The cost is £5 and £2.50 for concessions.
