SAFEGUARDING CONFERENCE 2020 - KEYNOTE SPEAKER: ANDREW MOFFAT

Biography:

Andrew Moffat has been teaching since 1996 and is currently Assistant Head Teacher at Parkfield Community School, Birmingham.

He is the author of "No Outsiders in our school: Teaching the Equality Act in Primary Schools" and regularly delivers equality training which enables schools to develop proactive measures to combat stigma and bullying in schools across the UK.

In 2017 Andrew was awarded an MBE for services to equality and diversity in education and in 2019 he was listed as a top 10 finalist in the Varkey Foundation global teacher of the year. This year Andrew's work made headlines as protests against inclusive RSE education started at his own school before spreading to others in Birmingham and further afield. Despite protests Andrew continues to teach at Parkfield Community School and No Outsiders continues to be a key strength of the school.

In summer 2019 No Outsiders became a registered charity. Visit website: No Outsiders
