Safeguarding Conference 2022 - Keynote Speaker: The Lucy Faithfull Foundation

By Safeguarding Team on 03 Feb 2022

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is an independent child protection charity, set up in 1992, with an exclusive focus on the prevention of child sexual abuse. The Foundation takes its name from Baroness Lucy Faithfull, who created and chaired the All Party Parliamentary Group or children, and recognised the need to work with those who present a risk of sexual harm to children if we are to protect children from sexual harm more effectively. To that end, the Foundation has developed a wide range of services, including the Stop It Now! helpline, though which the Foundation seeks to empower all adults to play their part in protecting children from sexual abuse.

This presentation will focus on:

  • To explore the continuum of appropriate, inappropriate, problematic and harmful sexual behaviour in young people, both on and offline
  • To share emerging insights from our Harmful Sexual Behaviours in schools action learning project
  • To explore how best to respond to concerns, supporting all children involved
  • To consider prevention and how best to promote a safeguarding culture
  • To share useful resources
