Closing the UK gap in early language skills

Last week, One Education welcomed Sue Palmer, a UK authority on literacy, to talk about developing early language for literacy in EYFS settings.

The Read On, Get On campaign research released this week, further confirms that this is a key step to ensuring that all children are confident readers by age 11. Currently four out of 10 of England’s lowest performing boys start school without the language skills needed to learn.

The campaign calls for government to support parents in their children’s earliest years to ensure they develop the language skills they will need for success at school.
