The secondary school performance tables have just been published by the DfE.
As a result of changes to GCSEs and performance reporting, school performance at five A* to C has controversially fallen across the board. Results have fallen by 5.8% in all schools to 53.4% and by 4% in state schools to 56.6%. The number of schools falling below the floor standard has also now doubled to 330. Nicky Morgan commented “we have raised the bar, and I know schools are already rising to the challenge“.
