Early Years Inspection Handbook

At the end of May OFSTED issued the latest Early years inspection handbook for use from 1 April 2015.

It sets out what inspectors must do and what early years providers can expect, during inspections. Three key judgements: provision for all; wellbeing; and leadership and management, will shape the inspection.

Whilst the guidance relates to all early years’ providers, childminders, pre-schools and nurseries; schools may find it supportive to know what Ofsted expect from their link settings, particularly in terms of assessment information and school readiness, to ensure a smooth transition.
