Rachel is an employment solicitor and CIPD HR professional. She has worked in the education sector for many years, both as a Lawyer and as a Senior HR Advisor. Rachel has represented schools, academies, local authorities and governing bodies in risk management, employment tribunals and other litigation, exit strategies and succession planning. She has vast experience in assisting school leaders.
Laura Clark is one of our Senior HR Managers and is a qualified solicitor. She has responsibility for the allocation of case work to the team. Laura has specialised in employment law for over 25 years and has advised schools and academies since 2009. Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team having worked in both the private and public sectors and having served as a school governor. She is a keen trainer and has particular interest in SEND and equality issues and is an accredited Safer Recruitment Trainer.
Pam is one of our Senior HR managers, with a chartered CIPD qualification and has been advising in schools and academies for over 10 years. Pam is a governor at a primary school and is responsible for safeguarding, she also sits on the Premises / Health & Safety Sub-committee. Pam has worked within a large High School as a HR Manager and has experience of supporting the development of school improvement plans and supporting the school through a full Section 5 Ofsted Inspection. Pam is currently responsible for overseeing our academy conversion service 'Academy in a Box'. She also delivers visioning sessions to schools who are thinking about becoming an Academy or joining a MAT.
Evette has nearly 30 years experience within the education sector, previously in a local authority before transferring to HR & People One Education when the organisation was founded in September 2011. Evette's specialisms are with the teachers' terms of conditions and safeguarding, being an accredited Safer Recruitment trainer, which includes Disclosure Barring Service checks and the Single Central Record. Evette enjoyed being a member of a governing body in a special school for several years, gaining knowledge of the wider picture of school life.
Jade is a qualified Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a Masters in Human Resource Management. Jade joined One Education in August 2012 after working as a HR Adviser in the public sector for five years. Jade is well experienced in dealing with complex disciplinary and grievance matters and provides specialist in house training to school leadership and management teams on handling difficult staffing situations. Jade has close links with the North West Counter Terrorism PREVENT team and has previously arranged collaborative PREVENT training for school leaders
Carly is an experienced Employment Law Solicitor and has been involved with the Education Sector since 2008, working for a Local Authority before joining One Education. Carly currently serves as a school governor at a primary school, a role which brings relevance to her HR role at One Education. Carly enjoys working to identify and implement practical and effective solutions to HR problems and delivering training.
Chloe is a qualified Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and joined One Education in May 2015. Chloe has delivered briefings to schools in relation to Social Media and the Single Central Record. Chloe previously worked for several years as a HR Advisor in the private sector, working for national organisations where she gained extensive generalised HR knowledge and provided training to all levels of staff and management. Chloe has also spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a ‘lycee’ 14-21 years in northern France.
Karen is educated to post graduate level in Human Resource Management and is an Associate member of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. She has over ten years experience working in HR, with the vast majority of her experience focused on providing advice on a wide variety of HR issues and delivering training to schools. Prior to working in HR, she worked in a managerial position providing recruitment solutions to schools. Her HR specialisms are mediation and employee engagement.
Kirsty is an experienced HR Advisor who is a qualified Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Kirsty has worked in HR & People at One Education since it was founded in September 2011 and has extensive HR experience across the public sector, which includes the NHS, Local Authority, Education and Higher Education. Kirsty has vast experience in generalised HR, organisational development and change, and is also a trained specialist in Job Evaluation in both the Higher Education and Local Authority schemes (HERA and NJC).
Katie is an experienced HR Advisor who has worked in the HR and People Team with One Education since May 2012. Katie came from a Local Authority where she held various HR roles, including Job Evaluation Specialist for Green Book Support Staff (NJC Scheme), Recruitment Officer and HR Officer in Adults Social Care. Katie is one of the team's accredited Safer Recruitment Trainers and is very experienced in delivering a wide variety of training across a number of regions. Katie has experience of being a clerk to governing bodies and GB Committees in a number of maintained schools in different Local Authorities.
Paula is an experienced HR Advisor who has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development since 2007. Paula has a vast amount of experience of working in a Local Authority, including over 5 years for the Education Service. During this time Paula worked as a HR Business Partner acquiring a vast knowledge and understanding of supporting organisational change including TUPE. Paula also has experience presenting regularly to management on a wide range of HR topics.
Rachel Depledge is a qualified Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and joined One Education in October 2016. Rachel has a broad range of experience working as a generalist Human Resources professional with a specialism in employee relations and employment law across a variety of sectors to include Education. Rachel is a keen and expert trainer and has provided training throughout her career to all levels of staff and management. Rachel is passionate about working with organisations to provide timely solutions and effective outcomes to any HR and people related matters.
Meg Lancaster is an Associate Member of the CIPD with a first class degree in Business and Human Resource Management. Moving to Manchester in 2016, Meg completed Employment Law training to CIPD Level and has been working alongside schools, nurseries, academies and further education institutions supporting them with their HR and internal change since. Meg joined One Education in June 2018 to offer further one to one support to schools and to get further experience with training, and support, firstly focusing on GDPR and its application to schools.
Lena has 14 years HR experience in education, and is an experienced generalist Human Resources professional. Prior to coming to One Education Lena was previously a HR Manager in a large independent boarding school, where she was also a member of the GDPR steering group. Lena is very experienced in relation to safeguarding, safer recruitment and SCR as she is level 3 safeguarding trained and was the designated safeguarding contact during school holidays. Lena is a qualified Speech, Drama and Oral Communication teacher and has utilised these skills to provide in-house training in the schools she has worked in the past and continues to do so.
Angela is a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development with a Masters in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations . She has over 24 years’ professional generalist HR experience in both the public and private sectors in HR Business Partner and HR Consultant roles including a number of years in the Education Sector as a stand alone HR Adviser for an independent school. Angela is a HR generalist with much experience in dealing with ER issues, organisational design and development, job evaluation, restructuring, contractual changes and employee engagement. She has previously been a literacy mentor in a special measures inner city primary school and enjoys supporting and advising managers in delivering their strategies and objectives through effective and practical solutions to a range of people issues.
Lauren is an Associate Member of the CIPD and holds both a Bachelors degree in Law and a Masters in Human Resource Management. She started her HR career within her own family business working as the HR Manager for 3 years before moving to the Private Sector as a Corporate and Education Business Partner and finally joining One Education in October 2018. Both roles saw Lauren regularly dealing with an extensive range of HR matters, managing cases from end to end along with training HR professional on a variety of topics. Lauren has worked closely with Maintained and Independent schools along with Academies, particularly dealing with ER issues such as, contractual changes, disciplinary, capability, absences management, sickness and maternity. Lauren is passionate about continuing her support to schools through her role at One Education providing solutions and advice which work with the schools to achieve the results they desire.
Prior to working for the HR, Payroll and Governance teams as the business manager, Keren worked in the One Education finance team, communicating with schools on a daily basis. Keren has a background in finance and is a qualified AAT Accounting Technician. Keren now enjoys organising and promoting the HR & People training programme on a termly basis.
