Safeguarding Conference 2018

"Fuels the fire to keep doing what we do!"

The One Education Safeguarding Conference 2018 was a fantastic event held at the vibrant Studio Conference Centre in Manchester.

  • Sara Rowbotham - Councillor and former Chair of Health. A member of the Schools and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Sara exposed the Rochdale abuse scandal and won a Special Recognition honour at the NHS Heroes Awards.
  • Julie Henniker - manager of the AIM Project (Assessment Intervention Moving on).

They both delivered inspirational, motivational and thought-provoking speeches which ended with rapturous applause from the audience.

Delegates had the opportunity to further advance their CPD in relation to safeguarding and protecting children & young people by attending a range of workshops throughout the day delivered by experts in their own field.

These included areas such as Radicalisation and Extremism, Fabricated Induced Illness, Female Genital Mutilation and working with young people following traumatic events.

We were also joined by our partners from CPOMs, The Key, Manchester Hubs, Peters Books and Footlights Theatre group which helped to give the event a really positive buzz!

Feedback from the event highlighted that delegates felt empowered to continue putting children first and at the heart of everything they do. We are now planning our 5th annual conference which is set to be equally outstanding.

This will be on 8th February 2019 at The Studio in Manchester. Watch this space for more information and we hope to see you there.
