Claire’s extensive experience of working in and around Manchester, means that she has a great depth of knowledge and awareness of the range of options and choices available from colleges, 6th Forms, apprenticeship providers and beyond that, into higher education opportunities.

Alongside her direct support to children and young people, Claire has significant experience of mentoring and supporting schools, colleges and training providers in achieving recognised quality kite marks in careers education, information, advice & guidance, such as the Matrix standard and the three levels of the Inspiring IAG Award.

Claire has over 7 years direct management experience in a careers and targeted youth support setting. Within her management and leadership duties, she has taken a key role in training and supporting front line staff, offering guidance and best practice relating to child protection protocols in collaboration with Manchester Safeguarding Childrens Board. During her time with Connexions, she worked specifically with vulnerable young people, deemed furthest away from learning, achievement and accessing the labour market. She continues to be passionate about this type of targeted, early intervention youth support and is currently a designated safeguarding lead within One Education Ltd.

Claire feels passionately about offering accurate and timely advice to young people, in order for them to make appropriate choices as part of their journey into adulthood. She is committed to encouraging and supporting lifelong learning, participation & attainment, and helping young people to fully realise and achieve their full potential.
