With changes to the National Curriculum, notably with children being expected to learn more at an earlier age, it is important that your Maths lead develop their skills and knowledge in leading Mathematics across the school.

Primary School Maths Support


Maths specialists can work with teachers to improve teaching and learning throughout the school. With a wealth of knowledge and skills to create inspirational lessons for teachers, class teachers are supported with planning and delivering a follow up lesson with support and feedback from a Maths Specialist. Teachers will develop their confidence whilst also developing ideas to engage children with the Maths curriculum.

As part of the support there is also the opportunity to include staff meetings, training, leadership support and audits for the whole school. We can design a bespoke support package specifically to meet the needs of your school and can cover all aspects of the Maths Curriculum or concentrate on developing a priority area.

The session will offer a wide range of activities and ideas to transform the teaching of Maths in the classroom whilst providing research and theory to develop pedagogy.

The Maths Leader network meetings take place once a term and are a fantastic way for leaders to learn about the latest research; understand developments in Mathematics education and network with colleagues.

We are more than happy to model lessons for teachers and other members of staff on any area that the school chooses. As well as modelling lessons, we can help teachers with planning lessons and team teaching. This can be across the school, for a year group, or an individual.

 

We can provide training on all aspects of the Mathematics curriculum in EYFS, KS1 or KS2. We can also provide staff meetings on embedding Mathematics throughout the curriculum. The team offers bespoke staff meetings, twilights and INSET days tailored to the needs of your school.

 

Our Education Consultants have a wealth of experience in what approaches work for assessment throughout the Mathematics curriculum and are able to look at the approach that would best work for your school. Our consultants can help in moderating of assessment judgements, analysis of data and identification of gaps. They will also help you to embed a monitoring and assessment process for the whole academic year.

 

Our Consultants can help to support your Maths Lead in developing their skills and knowledge in leading Maths across the school. This support will help Leaders to feel confident in making and leading changes across the school. We can audit current provision, develop an action plan and look at ways forward to implement the plan.

 

All of our support can be bespoke to the needs of your school. This may mean that we work with one teacher or the whole school, it may be that we work with a year group or with your teaching assistants. We can also work with senior leaders, parents and governors.

Jo Gray

Jo, an STA accredited moderator for Manchester with many years of school leadership experience, has worked with schools all over the North West. She works across Early Years, KS1 and KS2 delivering leadership support, whole school curriculum support and bespoke packages to meet your needs.

Education Consultant

Laura Lodge

Laura, a curriculum adviser in KS1 and KS2 Reading for the DfE, specialises in providing bespoke training to schools across the curriculum, particularly in English and Maths. Previously working as a Key Stage Two and English lead in Manchester, Laura led wide-ranging training opportunities and supported curriculum change.

Sarah Dean

Sarah provides schools with bespoke support and training across the curriculum, particularly English for KS1 and KS2. She also works as a Year 6 teacher in a Manchester Primary School, where she previously Led Literacy and helped to develop a text-based, broader curriculum to enrich children's learning
