There has recently been much talk surrounding marking: How beneficial is it for children? Is the time spent marking worth the outcomes it produces? Is highlighting, double marking and written comments really the best use of anyone’s time? Is there a more effective approach to suit children, teachers and the school?

Due to last year’s demand, this popular course is being repeated in order to explore the above questions and look at how to reduce teachers’ workloads whilst setting up a highly effective and purposeful marking system across the primary school. The session will allow you to review your own marking policy whilst looking at examples that have been successful in other schools. We will draw upon information from the DfE’s publication on ‘Eliminating unnecessary workload around marking.’

Delegates will leave the course with resources, example policies and a clear way to mark effectively and purposefully for the children.
