Exam information:

There are two exams included within the five-day MSP course:

  1. The foundation exam takes place on the Wednesday and is a memory test; its intention is to ensure you have learnt the language of MSP. The exam is an hour-long multiple choice, closed book exam that consists of 75 questions. Five of these questions are ‘trial questions’ that will not contribute to your overall score, so the exam is marked out of 70. In order to pass, a score of 35 or more must be achieved.
  2. The practitioner exam takes place on the Friday and is an open-book exam. The only resource you’re are permitted to use is the MSP 2011 guide. Annotations and page markers to find useful pages quickly are allowed but students are not to attach any other material into the book. The exam is a two-and-a-half-hour multiple choice exam. There are eight questions, each split into ten smaller questions, so the overall mark is 80. A mark of 40 or more is required to pass.

Additional information

A programme is made up of a set of projects identified by an organisation that will deliver an overall strategic objective to support business operation. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) is increasingly being recognised in the successful delivery of transformational change through the application of programme management. Major changes within a school or academy will bring complexity and risk, managing multiple projects with coinciding deadlines and conflicting priorities. MSP provides a structured framework and approach to programme management that can help organisations to successfully achieve change.
