Schools are facing unprecedented times during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers and Leaders are working continuously and are doing everything they can to provide a safe, supportive learning environment in school and online for children.

As a thank you for the huge undertaking that schools have coped with, we are offering a whole week of free CPD for the whole school. The webinars focus on supporting pupils, staff and the wider community during, and after COVID-19 and include subjects such as: The Recovery Curriculum, Mental Health and wellbeing, SEND, Autism, Looked After Children, Appraisals, Teaching and Learning, Governance, Payroll, recruitment, HR concerns and much more!

For information about each webinar, please see the individual agenda for every day. All webinars will be available to watch at a time to suit you and your busy schedules. Webinar 1: The impact of COVID-19 on performance management – A guide to bridging the gap in the Appraisal Process/Cycle

Delivered by Paula Shacklady and Kirsty Howe, HR Advisers. Providing advice and guidance on the assessment of performance management for staff during the Academic years 2019/20 and 2020/21 taking into the consideration the ongoing impact of COVID-19. We will provide guidance on assessing staff performance targets for the Appraisal Cycle 2019/2020; dealing with any performance concerns and in terms of your teaching staff, reaching a decision on pay progression.

Webinar 2: Managing your ongoing HR issues during the COVID-19 crisis.

Delivered by Meg Lancaster and Katie Dillon, HR Advisers. How to adapt your HR processes to ensure that you can fairly and safely continue to manage and resolve important attendance, disciplinary and grievance matters, whilst ensuring your staff are properly supported.

Webinar 3: Equality law still applies - avoiding discrimination claims during your school's response to COVID-19

Delivered by Laura Clark, Senior HR Manager and Rachel Depledge, HR Adviser "Schools are facing unprecedented circumstances in response to COVID-19 and a number of difficult decisions need to be made. When dealing with staffing issues, leaders must remember that despite the pandemic, schools still have a legal obligation to comply with their equality duty under Equality Act 2010 and must not therefore make any decisions which might discriminate against members of staff with protected characteristics. In this webinar we look at a number of scenarios and advise on best approach to ensure schools do not fall foul of equality law."

Webinar 4: Maintaining a culture of positive wellbeing during COVID-19

Delivered by Pam Mason, Senior HR Manager and Karen McCabe, HR Adviser. This webinar will provide managers with positive and creative ways to support their staff during and after the pandemic in the school setting, helping to create a' green-shoot' mentality which enhances motivation for all in the short and long term.
