Research has established that menopausal women are the fastest growing workforce demographic. Given the latest government data indicates 75.8% of teachers are women and that menopause affects every single woman, it is essential that school leaders have an awareness and understanding of the symptoms and how this might impact staff attendance, conduct or performance at work.

Whilst some women sail through this normal life event, for others it can be an isolating and anxious experience. Biochemist and sports scientist, Jeannette Jackson, will discuss the hormones of menopause and how and why they can cause such chaos on a woman’s mental and physical health and will also offer some top tips on how to eat and sleep better.

Senior HR Manager Laura Clark will discuss the legal issues, recent case law on age, sex and disability discrimination, and the reasonable adjustments which could be put in place to support women going through the Menopause.
