Y2 Literacy Network - 7 February 2023

The Y2 Literacy Network Meeting gives Y2 teachers the opportunity to gain valuable insights from experienced school leaders, moderators and DfE curriculum advisors.
The networks will take place once a term and will ensure teachers are up to date with current DfE recommendations whilst gaining knowledge and skills on invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom. The dates for this academic year are 18th October 2022 - Building Foundation Literacy Skills, 7th February 2023 - Supporting Reading & Writing for All and 23rd May 2023 - Supporting Pupils' Next Steps in Literacy. The bundle of all three sessions is also available to book onto under the all 3 sessions at a discounted price if you book under 'All 3 dates'. This is the single session for 7th February.
The Y2 Literacy Network Meetings for 2022-2023 will focus on:
- Statutory updates from the DfE, STA and OFSTED
- Latest research and how to effectively apply it to practice
- How to support and improve pupil outcomes
- Embedding English across the curriculum
- Developing subject knowledge and skills
- Practical ideas to teach Reading, Writing and GPaS effectively
- Sharing good practice
- Networking opportunities
A network event can be attended as a single event but attending the three meetings throughout the year will allow for delegates to build upon their knowledge and skills whilst gaining invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Delegates will receive a resource pack and be encouraged to complete a follow up task between sessions to embed new ideas into their practice.
