Content

A 1/2 day course to give delegates the opportunity to discuss pupil's writing in line with the National Curriculum. Jo Gray and Laura Lodge, experienced Manchester moderators, will ensure that the course provides delegates with up to date Key Stage 1 statutory assessment arrangements for Writing. The session will give you the opportunity to moderate writing with colleagues, local schools, and with an experienced moderator – all of which will help aid in developing consistency within assessment for writing. The session will explore texts, ideas and a range of strategies that can be used within the classroom; developing teacher’s confidence, knowledge and skills whilst improving outcomes for children and raising standards in writing.

All Year 2 delegates should bring with them writing evidence from across the curriculum for at least three children as the majority of the course will be spent assessing writing and discussing work with colleagues.

This course is also suitable for teachers in other year groups who would benefit from understanding end of KS1 expectations.
