Y6 Literacy Network - 23 May 2023
The Y6 Literacy Network Meeting gives Y6 teachers the opportunity to gain valuable insights from experienced school leaders, moderators and DfE curriculum advisors.
The network will take place once a term and will ensure teachers are up to date with current DfE recommendations whilst gaining knowledge and skills on invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom. The dates for this academic year are 18th October 2022 - Baseline Assessment and Next Steps, 7th February 2023 - Supporting Reading & Writing for All and 23rd May 2023 - Supporting Pupils' Next Steps in Literacy. The bundle of all 3 sessions is also available at a discount - please click on the 'All 3 sessions' one as this is the single session for 23rd May only.
The Y6 Literacy Network Meetings for 2022-2023 will focus on:
Statutory updates from the DfE, STA and OFSTED
Latest research and how to effectively apply it to practice
How to support and improve pupil outcomes
Developing subject knowledge and skills
Practical ideas to teach Reading, Writing and GPaS effectively
Sharing good practice
A network event can be attended as a single event but attending the three meetings throughout the year will allow for delegates to build upon their knowledge and skills whilst gaining invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Delegates will receive a resource pack and be encouraged to complete a follow up task between sessions to embed new ideas into their practice.
Who's it for?
Year 6 teaching staff and KS2 leaders.
