This EYFS course will provide EYFS teachers, leaders and practitioners with clear assessment processes which meet the statutory requirements and follow the developmental pathways for all children. The session will be led by experienced course facilitators who will share their insights into how to assess progress in the early years and how to effectively use this information to adapt provision and practice.
The session will explore:
- How to consider an effective curriculum and adapt learning to meet the needs of children use day-to-day assessments from observations to inform future planning, provision and play!
- Examples of ‘noteworthy’ learning moments across all areas of learning and how to use our professional judgement to discuss a child’s learning and development.
- Tracking a child’s Learning Pathway and how to use this information to plan next steps.
- Big Picture Thinking and how this information feeds into practice.
- How to structure Child Development Conservations to understand the holistic development of a child and identify their next steps.
- Transition planning and how the EYFS and Y1 teaching team can work collaboratively to ensure assessment information feeds into practice in KS1.
There will be plenty of opportunities to network with other early years colleagues and share effective assessment systems and good practice.
