Can you tell us a bit about your role?
My role as Clinical Lead in Creative Psychotherapy in Education (CPE) is to work alongside our Head of Service Jeni to support our growing team of associate therapists and to develop our CPE offer to meet the evolving needs of schools and other service providers across our city. I will also continue delivering sessions as a therapist and providing supervision.
What is your background?
I have worked as a Dramatherapist for 13 years, most predominantly in schools. I’ve also worked within a clinical psychology team that focused solely on supporting looked after and adopted children and their families through various therapies. As a result, I have developed a deep understanding of psychology, trauma, and how to use different therapeutic modalities to support both children and parents through healing and recovery.
Through my experience working in a wide range of settings, including schools, youth projects, prisons and urban communities, I’ve learned how to deliver creative therapies to promote both individual and community empowerment. With training in clinical supervision, I’ve also developed the knowledge and skills to support staff through an ongoing process of reflection, learning, and development.
Over the years, I’ve developed a toolkit of various strategies and skills that I hope to bring to my current role in supporting schools, the wider community, and the whole family through understanding and processing trauma and how this can bring about powerful change.
What are you looking forward to about with One Education?
I’m very excited to work alongside a team that recognises the potential of Creative Psychotherapy as a positive force for change. I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated team as we continue in our mission to support schools and ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of children, families, and their communities.
