Many children will be returning to school after the Half Term and will have lots of questions around the current controversial conflict between the two countries, Ukraine and Russia. It is really important, as school staff, we raise awareness to try and manage the impact that this maybe having on our children and young people.
Many children may feel fearful and anxious because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is unsettling the world. We must be aware of what they are seeing, watching, hearing and observing in both the media and online, which can sometimes be inaccurate. Best practice would be to encourage children and young people to ask adults at home and school about any things they have seen or heard.
