Youth Mental Health First Aid (2 day course)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. The 2-day Youth MHFA course is tailored for people who teach, work, live with and care for young people aged 8 to 18. Completing the two-day course qualifies you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. The two dates for this event are the 13th and 21st of March 2024.

Identification of SEND in a post COVID-19 education system

This session will focus on how the experiences of UK school children during COVID-19 have presented challenges for staff in identifying SEND. It includes exploring the difference between delayed and disordered language development and the strategies/tools that can be used to ensure that the identification of SEND is appropriate given the previous experiences of the pupils. 

Introduction to Developmental Language Disorder

This session will look at what Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is, how it may present and what we can do in class to support pupils with DLD. Some of these will be in class strategies whilst others will be activities that can be done in smaller groups or 1:1.
