Join our HR Director Rachel Foster, and Senior HR Manager Laura Clark, for a review of recent employment law developments and a discussion around key legislative changes to take effect during 2024.
Changes include new rules around holiday pay; amendments to the Equality Act 2010 to reflect certain EU discrimination law principles; improved rights to request flexible working; carer’s leave; paternity leave and extended protections from redundancy for those on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave.
Our speakers will discuss key case law decisions, highlighting a number of important cases involving schools and look at recent Employment Tribunal trends and awards. Practical advice will be given on how schools can prepare for the new legal duty from October 2024 to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and on how to approach difficult, and often sensitive issues around the protected characteristics of religion or belief and gender reassignment. Finally, we will look at what’s in the pipeline and give our predictions for 2025.
