The Year 6 Literacy Network Meeting gives Year 6 teachers the opportunity to gain valuable insights from experienced school leaders, moderators and DfE curriculum advisors.
The network will take place once a term and will ensure teachers are up to date with statutory expectations whilst gaining knowledge, skills and practical ideas to use within the classroom.
Session 3 – Identifying gaps and developing your curriculum – 23rd May 2024
All Year 6 Literacy Network Meetings for 2023-2024 will include:
· Statutory updates from the DfE, STA and OFSTED
· Latest research and how to effectively apply it in practice
· How to support and improve pupil outcomes
· Developing subject knowledge
· Practical ideas to teach Reading, Writing and GPaS effectively
· Sharing good practice
· Networking opportunities
A network event can be attended as a single event but attending the three meetings throughout the year will allow for delegates to build upon their knowledge and skills whilst gaining invaluable, practical ideas to adapt within the classroom.
Delegates will receive a resource pack and be encouraged to complete a follow up task between sessions to embed new ideas into their practice.
