This attendance training will explore barriers to good school attendance and how schools should respond to safeguard children and families. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of their roles and responsibilities, effective approaches to working with pupils and families, and how to develop a supportive, consistent and inclusive whole-school approach to improving attendance and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. National DFE guidance, legislation and Ofsted expectations will be covered including use of attendance codes and legal powers to enforce good attendance. Alongside national policy and procedures, there will also be attention paid to local policy and procedures and expectations on schools. This is an interactive training course designed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed for improving, managing and maintaining good attendance at school.
A blog will be written to support the training. Â
