One Education Marketing partnered with the Manchester Virtual School to create a brand new school website. This case study explores how we helped to transform the school’s online presence through dynamic website design, fresh branding, and compelling content and video.
Setting the Scene
The Manchester Virtual School takes a lead role in supporting Manchester City Council to promote the educational progress of the children and young people in its care. It is responsible for monitoring their attendance, attainment and achievement to ensure they have access to a high-quality education, employment, and training.
Towards the end of 2024, the Virtual School Team decided that a new school website was required in order to improve communications with all of the different professionals they worked with, both within and outside Manchester.
However, the team felt somewhat daunted by the task ahead. With so much information to convey, it was essential to ensure the website interface was expertly designed to be efficient and easy to navigate. With this in mind, the Virtual School took the decision to commission the website building service from One Education.
Our Approach
We worked closely with the Virtual School to establish what they wanted to achieve from the website, to identify the content to be included, and the layout that would best support their users. One of our first priorities was to ensure the look and feel of the website aligned with the school’s ethos and guiding principles. Our talented designer put together several different logos and branding styles for the school to choose from, each one rooted in the school’s mission to act as a champion for children and young people in care.
We recorded and edited a number of video messages to embed on the website, showcasing the school’s core services and the dedicated team behind the scenes. Together with fresh content, this transformed the user journey, making it easier for visitors to find the answers they’re looking for.
Before launching the new website, we worked hard to ensure the website was compliant with all accessibility and privacy requirements. Since the launch, we have continued to provide ongoing support to maintain the website and keep it up to date with evolving standards.
