New to Y2 – Exploring KS1 Assessment and Best Practice at the end of KS1

Contents 

This training is for ECTs and those who are new to Year Two in Manchester schools. We will be exploring best practice in year two and also provide key messages from STA and the local authority regarding non -statutory assessment and reporting arrangements in Year Two, and what to do now assessment is no longer statutory.

The training will cover:

•  An update regarding key messages from STA
•  Best Practice in Y2: Making accurate assessments of pupils’ Maths, Reading and Writing using the Non Statutory Teacher Assessment Framework
•  Using the STA exemplification materials to inform your judgements in writing
•  Planning in Year Two
•  What happens now KS1 assessment is no longer statutory
