Jessica chats to One Education about the impact that the One Education Educational Psychology service has had on the school.Â
Sarah is a HCPC registered Principal Educational Psychologist at One Education. She has an extensive background in education including experience of teaching in secondary and Post-16 sectors. Sarah is passionate about using psychology to make a positive difference for children and families. Sarah’s professional and research interests include trauma-informed practice, critical incident response, mental health and working in multi-disciplinary teams. She has published research in the field of adoption.Â
Carrie has been an EP for over 17 years and has worked as part of specialist, community and multi-disciplinary teams. Prior to qualifying as a psychologist, Carrie worked in children’s social care, taught and subsequently worked as a headteacher in specialist schools for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Carrie has worked closely with Manchester City Council to develop the Inclusion Strategy Toolkit and is passionate about seeking ways to ensure all children/young people across the city feel a sense of belonging to both their education settings and their communities.
Audrey is passionate about working in the local community in Manchester to support children and families. She works with partner agencies including Manchester City Council and Parent Carer Forum to offer support, advice and information. Audrey’s areas of specialism include bereavement and trauma and she leads the Critical Incident Team at One Education. The team provide support to educational settings after a traumatic incident has occurred, including training and research to support school’s readiness to manage serious incidents within their settings.
Michelle has worked as an EP for 14 years, joining One Education in 2022. Her interests include cared-for children, trauma-responsive practice and emotional well-being. She is passionate about working collaboratively and has an interest in using group-problem solving and person-centred planning approaches. Michelle’s current role focuses on promoting mental health and inclusion, at both a whole school level, and in relation to vulnerable groups.  Â
Helen has over 12 years’ experience of working within education including, working as a qualified teacher in the primary sector. Further to her Doctorate in Child, Community, and Educational Psychology, and Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, she holds a Master’s in teaching and learning. Helen’s professional interests include, care experienced children and young people, trauma informed practice, early years, the mental well-being of those working and supporting pupils, and supporting the aspirations of all pupils.
Judith's background in education includes many years in adult education and in the post 16 sector, and some time in a specialist school for children with ASD. Judith's professional interests include Early Years, social communication needs, critical incident response, and supervision. She feels very lucky to work in the educational psychology team at One Education as the team value collaboration and learning, and psychology is used creatively to meet the needs of children, families and schools.
Danielle has been with One Education since its inception in 2011. Having worked in different teams across the company, she joined the Educational Psychology service in 2018. Danielle enjoys engaging with the operational challenges that running a big busy team provides, and also assisting schools and local authorities in getting the support they require. In her spare time, she enjoys Nordic walking, cycling and socialising.
