Explore the key information and frameworks set out in the new DfE Maintained School Governance Guide to help you to understand your key roles and responsibilities as you begin your journey as school governor. This session is part of a wider training programme, which includes a mix of individual off-line learning challenges and two interactive online sessions.

Part 2 7th October 2026 -Becoming an Effective Governor

Part 2 of our induction programme builds upon prior learning to help you put knowledge into practice on your journey towards effective governance. Discover guidance and top-tips to help you prepare for meetings, participate in governor visits, take on a Link Governor role, and more. Plus, we will signpost to a range of sources for ongoing support. This session is also useful as a stand-alone refresher for experienced governors.
