On Thursday 7th March, it’s World Book Day once more, with this year’s theme being ‘Read Your Way’.

We know schools will be planning a great day celebrating reading in all its forms, but have you managed to set up an author visit? Having an author visit can be such a powerful way to engage children with reading, as well as with writing and illustration. This World Book Day, so many authors have given their time to put on free virtual events for schools, so we thought we’d put together a helpful list of just some of these fantastic events taking place. Make sure to look out for:

As always, the World Book Day website is full to the brim with resources to help you celebrate reading. Other wonderful resources can be found at the National Literacy Trust, Puffin Schools and Usborne.

Whatever you decide to do this World Book Day, use it as a catalyst to prioritise reading every day of the year. For more ideas and support on how to do this you can read our previous World Book Day blogs and articles on much more on the One Education website or contact our Literacy Team Leader, Laura Buczko at laura.buczko@oneeducation.co.uk.
