Literacy Conference 2020
Contents The fifth annual One Education Literacy Conference is sure to be a great day! Due to current restrictions, the conference will now take place online but it will still be as exciting as ever.
The theme for #LitConf20 is ‘Literacy for All’. Our inspirational keynote speakers and workshops hosts will be sharing with delegates how they can best support and challenge all Literacy learners; ensuring every child leaves school able to speak, read and write confidently.
Our first keynote to be announced is the wonderful children’s author Abi Elphinstone (@moontrug). Her books, such as Rumblestar and Sky Song, take children on magical journeys into amazing worlds.
We also have the wonderful Simon Kidwell and Clare De Wolf who will share how Hartford Manor has grown into a reading school and explore the 6 key strategies which underpin reading at their school.
Sarah Hubbard, Ofsted's National Lead for English, will be speaking about the latest Education Inspection Framework, especially changes to English. She will reflect on the English curriculum, discuss the importance of Literacy skills across the curriculum, inspiring pupils and good practice in schools.
The theme will continue throughout the day, with a multitude of workshops on offer, covering all aspects of Literacy, the curriculum, and how we can adapt during the current educational climate. With amazing keynote speakers and workshop hosts planned; handpicked online exhibitors and much, much more, #LitConf20 is not to be missed.
